Consider an account review. An account executive comments on a buying committee member's post. A solution consultant joins a technical discussion at the same company. Your founder reposts the company's announcement with a point of view.
Those contributions can matter to an account strategy. Can the team see them together, inspect what was said and decide what deserves a follow up?
That is a useful question to ask of a LinkedIn stack. Outreach software like Apollo, Expandi and HeyReach organizes prospecting and follow up. Publishing tools like Hootsuite and Sprout Social help teams plan and publish content. Advocacy platforms like DSMN8 and EveryoneSocial help employees share it. Each solves a real problem. The opportunity is to make relationship building through comments, reactions and reposts equally visible.
We reviewed the public documentation of 30 products for our LinkedIn business activity study. Here we compare the jobs those tools support and explain where Linkwiz can complement them.
An engagement feature can mean very different work
In six of the 30 tools, automatic likes within an outreach sequence were the only clearly documented way to engage with posts. Nine described other ways to participate, such as commenting on prospects’ posts, replying to incoming comments or supporting employee advocacy.
30 PRODUCT REVIEWS
What does engagement mean in each tool?
| What we found | Tools |
|---|---|
| Automatic likes in outreach sequences6 of 30 | Salesflow, Reply, La Growth Machine, We-Connect, Expandi, HeyReach |
| Other ways to engage with posts or support employee advocacy9 of 30 | Apollo, Breakcold, Vulse, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Oktopost, Vista Social, Agorapulse, Taplio |
| Engagement mentioned, with little detail1 of 30 | Sharebee |
| No post engagement feature established in the reviewed pages6 of 30 | Klenty, Waalaxy, LeadConnect, InTouch, Narrow, Heyoo |
| Not enough clear evidence to classify8 of 30 | lemlist, Sales Navigator, folk, Nimble, DSMN8, Sociabble, EveryoneSocial, Meltwater |
Categories describe the documentation reviewed, not a ranking of product quality. Unclear or missing evidence does not establish that a feature is absent.
A like added to a sequence, a reply on your company page and a colleague’s comment on a buyer’s post all count as engagement. But they tell you different things about how your team builds relationships.
For the remaining tools, engagement was mentioned only briefly, not established in the pages we reviewed, or left unclear. That describes the evidence we found, not everything a product can do.
For a marketing or sales leader, the useful question is simple: does the tool help someone join a conversation, show what they contributed, or measure the response to your own content?
Outreach tools: a task completed is different from a contribution reviewed
Apollo gives participation a place in a sales sequence
Apollo's LinkedIn tasks include Interact with post, alongside viewing a profile, sending a connection request and messaging. The guidance explicitly encourages thoughtful comments. This is a practical strength: participation can have an owner and a place in the rep's existing workflow.
The documented completion process asks the rep to act on LinkedIn and then mark the task complete. That confirms a workflow step was checked off. It does not, by itself, show a manager the comment, its context or whether it addressed the prospect's discussion. The reviewed workflow also did not establish alerts for new prospect posts or automatic capture of the resulting interaction.
Where Linkwiz adds value: Linkwiz shows specific company and colleague posts to engage with, then brings observed comments, reactions and reposts into the team report. Keep Apollo for organizing the sequence. Use Linkwiz to see who engaged, with whom and what they contributed.

Review observed interactions beyond your organization, including people and companies relevant to your account strategy.
Switch between Team & company and External network to explore the two kinds of participation.
Expandi and HeyReach make outreach execution visible
Expandi's campaign statistics include step counts and the people associated with them. Its reviewed campaign builder also documented automated post likes. That matters: outreach tools can track public actions, so it would be wrong to suggest that they only count private messages.
HeyReach's dashboard supports sender, campaign and date filters, alongside exports. These are useful controls for managing outreach across multiple LinkedIn accounts.
The leadership question extends beyond whether a sequence ran. Did the team contribute relevant expertise? Which external people or companies appeared in those interactions? Was the work concentrated among a few employees?
Where Linkwiz adds value: add a relationship building layer alongside outreach sequences. The aim is to become a familiar, relevant voice through useful contributions, then bring that context into a connection request or message. Linkwiz makes that participation visible across the team, beyond whether an automated like or outreach step ran.
Our hypothesis is that relevant engagement before outreach can improve connection acceptance and replies. LinkedIn’s own social selling guidance recommends commenting on prospects’ posts to establish familiarity. Our research did not measure an uplift in acceptance or reply rates.
Social selling tools: finding a conversation and reviewing team participation are related jobs
Taplio helps people find posts worth engaging with
Taplio's engagement product describes curated feeds of prospects, peers and creators, comment assistance, and tracking who engages back. That is a meaningful public participation workflow. Its value is helping an individual spend attention on relevant people and posts.
For an organization with hundreds of employees, there is a further management question: where did participation go across the selected team, and what is the evidence behind it?
Where Linkwiz adds value: finding posts is only the start. Alongside post recommendations, Linkwiz shows which employees engaged and where no engagement was observed in the report. It also identifies profile improvements, so a prospect who clicks through from a comment can understand the person’s expertise, role and company.
Breakcold brings prospect conversations into the CRM
Breakcold's LinkedIn CRM documents a prospecting feed for likes and comments, plus LinkedIn conversations connected to CRM records. Keeping prospect context near the deal is a clear workflow advantage.
A sales leader may also want to include the solution consultant, executive or customer success manager who participated publicly but is not managing the opportunity in that CRM workflow.
Where Linkwiz adds value: review captured public participation across a defined group of employee profiles. Keep deal ownership and private conversation history in the CRM. Bring the public contributions into the account discussion when they are relevant.
Sales Navigator helps define who matters
Sales Navigator adds account and lead targeting to the picture. Its usage reporting covers activities such as searches, saved leads and InMail. The research also recorded relationship related SSI components in its reporting documentation. Relationship measures are not absent from the market.
An aggregate score and an inspectable interaction answer different questions. A score can summarize activity; a specific comment shows what a colleague contributed to a particular discussion.
Where Linkwiz adds value: use captured public interactions as evidence in the review of those priority relationships. Verify a person's employer before treating their interaction as coverage of a named account. External network activity is broader than target account activity.
Advocacy and social management: distinguish who comes to you from where your team goes
DSMN8 helps explain the contribution of employee content
DSMN8's advocacy analytics documents individual and team breakdowns, campaign reporting, exports and UTM tracking. Those capabilities help an advocacy manager understand content distribution and the responses or traffic it generates.
An employee sharing company research and that employee joining a buyer's discussion are both relevant to advocacy. They deserve distinct reporting because the first starts with your content and the second starts with someone else's conversation.
Where Linkwiz adds value: review Team & company interactions separately from External network interactions. This gives the advocacy discussion room for colleagues supporting employer content and employees contributing outside the organization.
Agorapulse helps teams manage the conversation around their content
Agorapulse's LinkedIn inbox documents handling incoming comments and mentions. Its audience reports examine the response to published content. These are valuable jobs for a social team: respond consistently and understand how the audience reacts.
The same distinction applies to the incoming community workflows documented in our Sprout Social, Oktopost and Vista Social reviews. A team reply metric describes one kind of participation. It is not automatically a report of employees commenting on external buyers' posts.
Where Linkwiz adds value: see where employees join conversations beyond your own company page, inspect their contributions and identify opportunities to participate. This complements the social team’s work managing incoming comments. The planned personalized feed would extend this with real time opportunities to join relevant conversations.
Where Linkwiz fits: connect engagement, reporting and stronger profiles
Linkwiz connects three parts of relationship building: finding a relevant post, seeing whether your team engaged and improving the profile a prospect sees afterward. Reporting ties them together, with visibility into who participated, where and what they contributed.
In Activity Tracking, the report brings together captured posts and interactions for selected employee profiles. Interactions separates Team & company from External network. The latter shows interactions with people and company pages outside the organization, with supporting activity available for inspection. Explore Activity Tracking.
Post recommendations give people a place to start. A planned personalized feed of conversations to join would extend this to timely opportunities at relevant accounts. The reporting question stays the same: did the team engage, and what did they contribute?
Profile analysis makes the next impression more deliberate. Linkwiz checks areas such as the headline, About, Experience and Featured sections, then provides evidence and recommendations for each person. A useful comment can earn attention. A clear profile helps explain why that person is worth speaking to.

For a VP of Sales, that can bring an account executive's public interactions into an account review. For a head of marketing, it can show where subject matter experts participate beyond the company feed. For an advocacy lead, it can make external participation visible alongside support for colleagues and employer content.

About this comparison
The original review examined 30 unique product families and retained 102 documentation evidence records. This is a documentation review, not a hands on performance ranking. Linkwiz produced the research and was outside the 30 product sample. The product panel is separate from the study’s 138 articles and 51 community questions.
Product documentation was collected on September 18, 2026. The linked examples for Apollo, Expandi, HeyReach, Taplio, Breakcold, Sales Navigator, DSMN8 and Agorapulse were checked again on September 22, 2026. The category totals remain the original research results. Products can change, and unavailable or ambiguous documentation remains a limitation.
The review did not complete a combined test of every product against the full employee, external account, time period and interaction evidence workflow. It therefore supports these specific comparisons, not a claim that zero alternatives exist or that Linkwiz is uniquely capable. The suggested combinations are editorial recommendations, not tested integrations or proof of better commercial results.
