Help your team improve their LinkedIn profiles with Linkwiz

Turn profile findings into specific employee updates. Use Linkwiz recommendations, examples from colleagues and optional AI guidance to help your team make the changes.

“Please update your LinkedIn profile” leaves each employee to work out what needs changing. A missing company name in a headline, an empty About section and an outdated cover image each need a different response.

Linkwiz reviews employees' LinkedIn profiles in a company report. Its Profile Optimization area shows which profiles need attention, the evidence behind each finding and a recommended next step. You can also find examples among colleagues who passed the same check.

Create a company report with your company website or LinkedIn Page and select the employees to include. If you already have a report, use it for the steps below. The team profile audit guide explains what the report checks and how to review the team results.

Choose the first updates

Start with the Optimize results for each Profile check. They show how many people need attention in that area. The team matrix helps you see which employees have several findings, while the individual results explain what each person needs to change.

Choose a first round that matters to your team now. If sales is starting outreach to new accounts, check whether prospects can recognize the company and understand each sender's role. Headlines and current company details may be a useful place to start. If your team is promoting an event, a relevant cover image or Featured post may deserve attention first.

Keep the first request manageable. Ask people to make the relevant edits, give them the material they need and agree when you will review the updates. You can work through the remaining findings in another round.

Give each employee a specific next step

Open an employee's finding and read Evidence alongside Recommended next step. Evidence shows what Linkwiz found on the profile. The recommendation explains the suggested change. This guidance is already available in Linkwiz, without connecting an AI assistant.

For a headline that leaves out the company, share the suggested wording and ask the employee to adapt it to their role. “Account Executive at your company | Brand video production” gives them something concrete to work from. They can keep the expertise or customer focus that makes their headline personal.

Use the same approach for other findings. If an About section is missing, the request is to add one. Send the About guide to help the employee explain their work and include relevant results, experience or customer examples. If the current company is missing from the top of the profile, share the profile intro guide.

Add an About section that explains your role at Walt, who you help and how you work with customers. Use Jasmine’s example as a starting point, then write it in your own words.

Example from Jasmine Vale · Good

At Walt, I help marketing teams explore video content for their campaigns. I work with potential customers to understand their audience and goals, then connect them with the right people on our team.

Give employees the finding and the help that matches it. Someone who needs a cover image should receive the image they can use. Someone who needs to describe their role may need a good example and time to write their own version.

Find good examples in your own team

The Good results are useful too. They show which colleagues passed a particular check, so you can find examples already connected to your company.

For the Cover check, look at colleagues whose cover images passed. Their profiles can help you find a suitable company cover image to share with the rest of the team. For Headline, find examples from people in similar roles. A sales colleague's headline is often a more useful starting point for another account executive than the CEO's.

Tell employees what to borrow: the company connection, the clarity of the role or a relevant example of work. Let them adapt the rest. A Good result means that profile passed that particular check. For About, it means the section exists; read the text before choosing it as a writing example.

Help employees work through the changes

Use the report and the individual guides

An employee can use the report's evidence and recommendations as their starting point, then refer to the guide for the section they are updating. The headline guide, cover image guide and Experience guide include examples and practical advice for making those edits.

You can keep the request short: explain what needs changing, include the relevant recommendation and share a passing colleague's example where it helps. Employees make the updates on their own LinkedIn profiles.

Ask an AI assistant for additional help

Connect Linkwiz to ChatGPT, Claude or Codex through MCP if you want help summarizing findings or turning them into a short employee brief. The assistant can use the available report findings to explain what needs attention and help draft the next steps. See the Linkwiz integrations for the available connections and setup guidance.

For a team review, you might ask: “Summarize the profile updates our sales team needs. Group the findings by employee and include the supporting evidence and recommended next step.”

For an individual, try: “Use my profile findings to help me improve my headline. Ask about my role and the customers I work with before suggesting wording.”
