Linkwiz guides
Track your team’s LinkedIn profile improvements
See what changed between reports, which employees still need help, and what to work on next.
You have shared the company cover image, helped people write clearer headlines and asked employees with an empty About section to add one. A later review should answer a simple question: which of those updates have actually happened?
Linkwiz brings employees' LinkedIn profiles into a company report. Its Profile Optimization area shows Good and Optimize results, the evidence behind each finding and a recommended next step. When earlier reports are available, you can compare them with a later report to see which profiles improved and where someone still needs help.
Start with a report that includes all your employees. If you are setting one up for the first time, the team profile audit guide explains what to review. This guide focuses on checking progress after people have made their updates.
The people, company and results in the examples below are fictional. Four employees are shown as an excerpt from a company report.
Start with the reports before and after your updates
Use an available report from before the updates as your starting point, then review a later month after employees have had time to make the changes and their profiles have been scanned again.
In Linkwiz, Report month lets you review an earlier month. Compare shows changes against the previous month where comparable results are available. Focus on the Profile category when you want to review changes to profile sections, such as headlines, cover images and About sections.
Choose the report month
For the example below, August is the starting point and September is the follow-up. Compare the profiles and checks available in both periods so the change reflects the same group. If you only have one report so far, use it to identify the first updates, then return when a later report is available.
See which profile sections improved
Begin with the checks related to the updates you asked for. If you helped employees include the company in their headlines, see how many now pass Headline. If you asked people to add missing About sections, review About too.
Among the four example employees, Headline moves from two Good results in August to three in September. One more employee now has a headline that names the company. About also moves from two Good results to three: one more employee has added the section.
One more employee passes each check
August
Is the company mentioned in their headline?
2 Good
2 Optimize
Do they have an About section?
2 Good
2 Optimize
September
Is the company mentioned in their headline?
3 Good
1 Optimize
Do they have an About section?

1 Optimize
Those counts tell you where to look next. Open the employee findings to see who changed their profile and what the report now shows. For About, a Good result tells you the section is present. You can read the text to see how well it explains the person's work and whether there is more useful guidance to offer.
Review the other Profile checks as well, especially areas you have already helped people update. A new cover image, a current company shown in the profile intro or a clearer Experience section each deserves its own check. The month-by-month profile progress article shows a broader example over several reports.
Confirm what changed for an employee
An employee's Evidence makes the improvement easier to understand. Compare the finding from the earlier month with the later one, rather than relying only on a score.
In August, Belle's headline reads “Account Executive | Brand video production”. Her Headline result is Optimize, with a recommendation to include Walt. In September, it reads “Account Executive at Walt | Brand video production” and the result is Good. The change is small, but a visitor can now see which company Belle represents.
Belle adds Walt to her headline
Account Executive | Brand video production
Add Walt and describe the customers you help.
Account Executive at Walt | Brand video production
You can confirm a missing section in the same way. Arielle's August About finding shows that no About section is present. In September, the section exists and the result is Good. The About guide can help her develop it further with a clear explanation of her role, relevant results and examples of her work.
Arielle adds the missing About section
No About section is present.
An About section is present.
I lead brand and audience growth at Walt, helping marketing teams turn their message into clear brand videos.
Find the people who still need help
The latest team matrix shows whose results are still Optimize. Use it to decide who needs a follow-up, then read their current evidence and recommendation before contacting them.
Peter's Headline result is Optimize in both months. His headline still reads “Sales Development Representative | Starting useful conversations”. The next step is specific: help him include Walt while keeping the part that describes his work.
Who still needs help?
| Employee | Headline | About |
|---|---|---|
Belle Beaumont | Good | Optimize |
Arielle Reed | Good | Good |
Peter Panley | Optimize | Good |
Jasmine Vale | Good | Good |
Sales Development Representative | Starting useful conversations
Add Walt and describe the customers you help.
Give Peter the Recommended next step, a relevant example from a colleague with a Good Headline result, and the headline guide. Belle's updated headline can help him see the change you mean; he can adapt the wording to his own role.
Belle still has an Optimize result for About, so her next request is different: add the missing section. The employee profile updates guide explains how to combine Linkwiz recommendations, passing colleagues' examples and individual guides into useful help for each person.
Turn the comparison into a short team recap
A useful recap names the people who completed an update, the people who still need help and the next action for each. Include the report months so everyone knows which review the recap refers to.
You can ask ChatGPT, Claude or Codex connected to Linkwiz through MCP to help summarize the available historical findings. Ask it to include the employee, check, month and evidence behind each change. The integrations page explains the available connections.
Prompt: Compare our August and September Profile findings. Which employees fixed their headlines or added an About section? Who still has an Optimize finding? Include each person's name, the check, both months and supporting evidence. Suggest the next help to offer.
A recap with names, changes and next steps
Compare the August and September findings below. Who improved, and who still needs help? Include the employee, check and evidence.
Belle · Headline: Optimize in August → Good in September. She added Walt: “Account Executive at Walt | Brand video production”.
Arielle · About: Optimize in August → Good in September. The previously missing section is now present.
Peter · Headline: still Optimize in September. Share Belle’s passing headline and help him add Walt.
Belle · About: still Optimize in September. Help her write the missing section, starting with her role and the customers she helps.
Employees can also ask Linkwiz for help in Slack. Someone whose finding is still Optimize can ask what the latest report recommends and get guidance for that particular update.
Prompt: My latest Headline finding still says Optimize. What does the evidence show, and can you help me include the company while explaining my role?
For more individual support, use the personal plan and employee guidance options to help someone work through their own findings. Keep the follow-up connected to the change they need to make.
Choose a small next round of improvements
Recognize the updates people have completed, then choose a manageable next round. In this example, Belle's headline and Arielle's About section are done. Peter needs help with his headline, and Belle needs an About section.
Use a short recap like this:
- Completed: Belle added Walt to her headline. Arielle added an About section.
- Still needs help: Peter's headline leaves out Walt. Belle's About section is missing.
- Next actions: Send Peter a passing headline example and help Belle describe her role and relevant results. Review those findings after the profiles have been updated and scanned again.
A monthly review can give your team a regular point to check progress. Use the reports available at that time, keep track of the help you offered and review the evidence behind the next results. You will know which requests led to profile updates and which employees would benefit from more support.
