The decision is about follow-up, not just the price
If a few employees want help polishing their LinkedIn wording, a free tool and a clear brief may be enough. Ask them to review their drafts and share the changes. You may not need another system for that job.
The need changes when you are responsible for the whole team: which profiles need attention, what each person should update and which findings improve later. That is where Linkwiz’s company report becomes useful. ResumeMetric can still be part of an employee’s writing process.
| Your buying question | Linkwiz | ResumeMetric |
|---|---|---|
| What do we review? | Create a company report for the employee profiles you want to review. | Enter profile text or use the advertised profile-PDF import. |
| What will the result tell us? | Read employee-specific evidence and next steps in a team matrix. | Review a score and suggestions for the supplied headline, About, experience and skills. |
| How does someone act on it? | Use recommendations, guides, colleague examples and connected AI support. | Edit text, use headline options and preview how a headline might appear. |
| How do we coordinate the team? | Share a company view and follow up on the right changes for each person. | Use the individual browser tool and share exported outputs where useful. |
| How do we follow improvement? | Compare available scans and inspect changed employee findings. | Keep dated exports and compare feedback after editing the supplied text. |
| What about employee participation? | Use captured company-related activity and supporting posts in Activity Tracking. | Use career preparation tools alongside the profile-text review. |
| What else does the product help with? | Connect employee improvements with company presence and relevant participation. | Prepare resumes, career materials and job applications. |
Example: updating 100 employee profiles before a launch
Your company is launching a service and wants the sales and customer-success teams’ profiles ready. Marketing has a new cover image and agreed messaging. The task is to help 100 employees make the relevant updates without turning every profile into the same description.
Start with a Linkwiz company report to see the findings for those employees. Open the relevant checks, review the evidence and decide what to ask each person to change. The team profile audit guide explains that process.
PROFILE · HEADLINE
Is the company mentioned in their headline?

Example · See which employees need which profile updates.
Group the work by the help people need: an approved cover file, the correct company Page or guidance on mentioning the company in their headline. Use relevant profiles that passed the checks as examples. Employees keep their own voice while the manager has a shared view for follow-up.
When ResumeMetric may be all you need
The free LinkedIn Profile Optimizer offers checks for supplied headline, About, experience and skills text, plus a profile-PDF import option.
Its interface includes headline suggestions, previews and audit exports. That can give an individual a starting point for editing and something to discuss with a colleague.
If the task is a one-off writing review and someone can check the final profile, this may be enough. Give the employee the company context first, then review the wording for accuracy and relevance before it goes on LinkedIn.
If the employee would prefer individual feedback in French, see the ProfilScore comparison for its self-assessment and paid human-review options.
Give employees a brief, not just a link to an optimizer
Example brief: “Make your current role and company clear. Explain who you help and what you help them do. Use the approved company name, check that your workplace links to the right Page, and use the cover file we shared. Keep claims specific to your own work.”
Use that brief with whichever writing process an employee prefers. Linkwiz adds recommendations, guides and examples from relevant colleagues to help with specific findings. The employee profile updates guide explains how to organize it.
If someone needs more help, connected ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Linkwiz in Slack can discuss accessible report findings and draft wording with them. An exported personal optimization plan can also be uploaded to their own assistant. See the team AI agent guide.
Example headline: “Account Executive at Walt | Helping B2B teams plan brand videos.” Use this as a starting point for the brief, then check that the wording accurately describes the employee’s role.
A free tool can work with a simple team process
ResumeMetric also offers a resume scanner and other career tools. These are useful when the employee’s task includes career preparation as well as LinkedIn.
For employees working on how they describe experience, its bullet formatter and STAR builder are other advertised options to explore. Choose the utility that fits the task rather than asking everyone to use the full toolkit.
For a small, one-off update, a shared checklist can be sufficient: employee, requested change, person reviewing it and date confirmed on LinkedIn. Move to a company report when manually finding and revisiting profile gaps becomes the work you want to reduce.
For an ongoing career program with coach reviews and group reporting, the SkillsFirst comparison examines that broader workflow.
Check the updated profile, then review progress
ResumeMetric offers saved inputs and export controls. If you use exports to compare drafts, date them and keep the original wording alongside the revision. A better draft is useful, but the employee still needs to apply the chosen changes on LinkedIn.
With Linkwiz, return to available scans for the same employees and inspect the changed findings. That gives the manager a shared place to see improvement and decide who still needs help. The profile progress guide covers that review.
Once profiles are ready, you may also want to help employees join relevant conversations. Linkwiz’s Activity Tracking supplies company and colleague posts and captured activity. Connected AI assistants or the Slack agent can discuss those posts and help draft a contribution.
The weekly recommendations guide explains that next step. Profile editing and participation can be part of the same team program, with separate reviews for each.
What are you paying to organize?
| Option | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Linkwiz Starter | $25/month or $250/year, USD. | 25 tracked people, 1 company and 3 workspace members; profile optimization and activity tracking. |
| ResumeMetric public tools | Free; no sign-up advertised. | Personal profile text checks and a collection of career tools. |
Use Linkwiz pricing to match the plan to the employees being reviewed and the people managing the workspace. Tracked employees do not each need a Linkwiz account.
ResumeMetric describes its public toolkit as free. The practical question is whether individual tools plus your own checklist cover the work, or whether shared findings and ongoing follow-up justify a team subscription.
The LinkedInRank comparison offers another free personal-review option to weigh against the time your team spends coordinating follow-up.
Try a small group before rolling it out
Choose a few employees with different roles. Agree on the updates, share the same brief and have each person make the changes. Check how easily you can answer: who needs help, what is still outstanding and what changed on the live profile?
If individual text feedback and a simple checklist answer those questions well, ResumeMetric may be enough. Choose Linkwiz when you need the company report to identify findings and support repeated review across employees.
You can also use both: Linkwiz for company findings and follow-up, and ResumeMetric for an employee’s separate text check. The employee reviews the suggestions and updates LinkedIn; this workflow does not assume a direct connection between the tools.

By Linkwiz · Evidence reviewed 16 October 2026. Reviewed ResumeMetric’s public optimizer and wider toolkit, current Linkwiz pricing and approved product guides. The optimizer interface loaded without login. A sample-test attempt was interrupted by an unrelated third-party redirect, so generated feedback, PDF import and exports were not functionally verified. No real employee data was submitted.
ResumeMetric features here are described from its public interface. Its grade is a tool-specific assessment, and its search preview is an approximation. We did not validate claims about recruiter rankings, fixed display cutoffs, ATS outcomes or complete data privacy.
The comparison covers the public individual workflow we could inspect, not a test of custom team services. Linkwiz progress review requires multiple available scans. Activity reviews reflect captured contributions.
