What do you need to get done?
If you are comparing these tools, start with the work you need to manage. Is it helping people describe their experience more convincingly, or getting your company’s employees to update their LinkedIn profiles and keep them current?
SkillsFirst supports the first through AI feedback, coach reviews and career-readiness reporting. Linkwiz supports the second through employee profile findings, practical recommendations and follow-up across the team. Both offer group review and progress reporting; the useful difference is what you are reviewing.

Example: a company-wide profile update
Your company has launched a new service. Marketing has prepared a cover image and approved messaging, but the sales and customer-success teams still describe the company differently on LinkedIn. The job is to find the profiles that need attention and give each employee a clear next step.
Create a Linkwiz company report, select the employees and review the findings. Start with the company-related checks that matter to this update, then open an individual finding for its evidence and recommendation. The team profile audit guide explains the review.
PROFILE · HEADLINE
Is the company mentioned in their headline?
| Employee | Headline | Cover | Profile Intro | Workplace |
|---|---|---|---|---|

Example · See which employees need which profile updates.
Use profiles that passed the relevant checks as examples. Share the approved cover and explain what the headline should communicate, while leaving room for each person’s role and expertise. For instance: “Make your role at the company clear and explain the customer problem you help solve.”
The employees being reviewed do not each need a Linkwiz account. A workspace member can coordinate the review, share the next steps and return to later scans to see which findings have improved.
Example: coaching someone on their LinkedIn writing
The SkillsFirst LinkedIn Profile Builder lets a member upload a resume-style version of their LinkedIn profile or import a resume. AI feedback helps them revise the headline, summary and experience.
Suppose a member’s experience section lists responsibilities but gives little sense of their contribution. They can use the feedback to work on that wording, then ask a coach to review the revised material.
The coach can ask for details the person has left out: the problem they worked on, their contribution and the outcome they can substantiate. The member chooses the wording they want to use and applies it on LinkedIn.
SkillsFirst’s wider platform also covers resumes, interviews, cover letters and other career materials. If your program already uses it, LinkedIn coaching can sit within that existing support process.
For a self-service text check, the ResumeMetric comparison explores when a free optimizer and a shared checklist are enough.
Already using SkillsFirst? Decide whether you need anything else
The official SkillsFirst FAQ describes a Centralized Review Center where coaches can review LinkedIn content alongside other career materials, annotate feedback and leave comments.
Its LinkedIn Quality Score and structured feedback give the review a consistent starting point. Human feedback remains useful for checking whether the wording is accurate and reflects what the member wants to communicate.
If your main job is reviewing LinkedIn writing, helping members revise it and reporting on their progress, SkillsFirst may cover the work you need. Its coaching and group reporting are meaningful reasons to use it.
Consider Linkwiz when you also own a company-wide LinkedIn update: you need to see which employees have specific profile findings, share relevant guidance and follow up on the profiles representing your company.
If you are choosing individual coaching in French, the ProfilScore comparison covers self-assessment, a human audit and help rewriting a profile.
Give people help they can act on
A finding is most useful when it leads to a specific request. Linkwiz includes recommendations and guides, and you can use relevant profiles from your team as examples. The employee updates guide shows how.
For employees who want help with wording or the steps involved, connected ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Linkwiz in Slack can discuss the report they can access. You can also export a personal optimization plan for an employee to upload to their own AI assistant. The team AI agent guide explains these options.
SkillsFirst has AI support inside its own career tools. Its Student Success AI Bundle adds customizable scans across its career tools. Check which tools your organization enables and who is responsible for reviewing the member’s changes.
Follow improvement in the work you actually care about
For a company rollout, use Linkwiz to compare available scans for the same employees. See which findings improved and where someone still needs support. The profile progress guide shows the workflow.
SkillsFirst’s Career Readiness Insights Module keeps document score history and gives members and staff dashboards to follow progress, including LinkedIn Quality Score. That supports an ongoing coaching program rather than a one-off review.
Before choosing, ask to see the same person’s earlier and later results. With SkillsFirst, look at the revised material and feedback behind the score. With Linkwiz, look at the profile findings and evidence behind the change.
For a company update, agree on completion before you begin: employees have reviewed their recommendations, made the relevant changes and the later report shows the resulting profile findings. For a coaching program, agree what a stronger submission should demonstrate and how the coach will review it.
Choose reporting that matches your responsibilities
SkillsFirst’s Premium API provides career materials and student- or cohort-level scores for custom reporting. If your institution needs data in its own dashboards, include the API and its package requirements in the evaluation.
Linkwiz’s Activity Tracking supplies a focused company and colleague feed, participation totals and the captured interactions behind them. Through connected assistants and team chat, people can discuss those posts and get help drafting a contribution.
For a marketing or sales leader, this adds a separate question after the profile update: are employees joining relevant company and colleague conversations? Review the available contributions and use that context when offering support.
For a career-program leader, the priority may be the quality of members’ submissions and where coaching is needed. Ask for the report you would actually use in a team meeting, rather than choosing by the number of dashboard features.

Before buying, walk through one profile from start to finish
| Product or access route | Price reference | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Linkwiz Starter | $25/month or $250/year, USD. | 25 tracked people, 1 company and 3 workspace members; profile optimization and activity tracking. |
| SkillsFirst through an organization | Check the access provided by your institution or program. | Eligible members, enabled LinkedIn/AI tools, coaching and score reporting. |
| SkillsFirst organizational rollout | Ask for a current offer covering your requirements. | Member access, Insights, Student Success AI Bundle and Premium API scope. |
Linkwiz pricing separates tracked employees from the workspace members managing the review. Count both when planning a company rollout.
Ask each provider to show one person’s starting material, the feedback, who can review it and the later progress view. Confirm where the person makes the LinkedIn update. This short walkthrough tests the workflow you need more usefully than a feature list alone.
Choose based on the work your team owns
Choose Linkwiz if you own your company’s employee LinkedIn presence: you need shared profile findings, practical next steps, follow-up on updates and visibility into captured company-related participation.
Choose SkillsFirst if you own a career-coaching program: you need feedback on LinkedIn writing, human review and progress reporting alongside resumes and other career materials.
Use both only when you have both responsibilities. SkillsFirst can support the coaching work, while Linkwiz supports the company profile review. Agree who owns each step; there is no direct integration assumed in this workflow.
