Choose a portrait, then complete the profile update

An employee has several portraits to choose from. One feels friendly, another looks more formal, and colleagues have different favorites. Photofeeler gives them feedback from people seeing each photo for the first time, so they have more to work with than a personal preference.

Use Photofeeler when choosing or improving the portrait is the task. Add Linkwiz when a team lead also needs to coordinate LinkedIn profile updates across employees and follow up afterward. A portrait decision and a completed profile update need different information.

Photofeeler already supports testing another version to see whether its feedback improves. Linkwiz adds the wider employee profile review and follow-up. Use one or both according to the work your team needs.

Understand the three business-photo scores

For LinkedIn, choose Photofeeler’s Business category. It asks voters about the impression of competence, likability and influence. The official FAQ explains that the scores describe impressions from the photo, rather than the person’s actual abilities.

Read all three traits when choosing the portrait
TraitWhat the feedback describesHow to use it
CompetentWhether the photo gives an impression of capability.Consider it alongside a clear face, suitable crop and recognizable appearance.
LikableWhether the photo gives an approachable impression.Look at the expression and read notes about how the image comes across.
InfluentialWhether the photo gives an impression of presence or authority.Consider whether the result fits the person’s role and how they want to present themselves.

Keep the choice personal. A salesperson may want a portrait that feels approachable; a founder may also care about a confident presence. Let the employee choose a photo they recognize themselves in, using the feedback as help with that decision.

Test a few usable portraits in the same context

Start with a small shortlist of photos the employee would actually use. Check that the face is clear, the lighting works and the background does not compete for attention. Preview the circular LinkedIn crop. The profile picture guide explains those basics.

Each employee should run their own tests and choose what feedback to share with the team lead. Photofeeler’s account terms specify one account per person and prohibit creating accounts for others or sharing logins. A company project can coordinate the task without taking over their account.

Choose Business for each option and use an accurate work context if adding a title. Keep the category, context and vote count comparable. Each photo gets its own test; voters are not asked to choose between two portraits placed side by side. Follow the test setup steps through to confirmation that the test is active.

Employees should be comfortable with other Photofeeler users seeing the image while a test runs. Its privacy policy and terms explain data use. The terms include internal research and product development, including machine-learning improvement; private from other voters does not mean the photo is excluded from that processing.

Read the notes and uncertainty before choosing a winner

Photofeeler’s results guide describes scores from 1 to 10, adjusted for voters’ rating habits. A score of 5 represents an average impression against its reference photos. Read the three traits and the notes together.

When a result is marked Rough, more feedback is needed before drawing a firm conclusion. The faded part of each score bar shows a range of uncertainty. If two photos have very similar scores and overlapping ranges, treat the difference as a reason to look more closely, rather than declaring one clearly better.

Use repeated notes to find a practical adjustment, such as a tighter crop, clearer lighting or a quieter background. Test the revised version if useful. Photofeeler’s testing advice recommends comparing several options and collecting more votes for an important LinkedIn photo decision.

Example: Belle has two portraits she likes. She compares their Business feedback and reads the notes, then checks the one she prefers in a LinkedIn-sized circle. She shares the chosen file with marketing and keeps ownership of her decision.

Choose between free voting and paid credits

With Karma, employees earn feedback by rating other people’s photos. This free route allows one active photo test at a time. Paid Credits provide a set number of votes, priority in the queue and multiple tests at once.

Pay for photo feedback separately from ongoing team profile review
Planning questionPhotofeelerLinkwiz Starter
What can I try first?Vote on other photos to earn Karma for your own test.Create a company report and review the available findings.
What does paid access cover?Photo-test credits: one Credit pays for one Vote.A recurring company profile and activity review.
What are the reviewed prices?40 Credits: $9; 100: $19; 250: $39; 650: $79.$25/month or $250/year in USD.
How do we count the people?Plan the tests and credits in each employee’s own account.25 tracked people, 3 companies and 3 workspace members.

Example: one employee tests two portraits with 40 votes each. That uses 80 Credits, which fits within the reviewed 100-Credit pack. This is a planning calculation, not a promise that 40 votes will settle every photo choice.

Check the current credit prices before purchasing. Test speed varies with the voting queue; paid priority is not a guaranteed completion time. For Linkwiz, count tracked employees separately from the workspace members who manage reports.

Give the chosen portrait a clear place in the team update

Create a Linkwiz company report through the UI and review the employees involved. Open the Profile Photo evidence before asking for a change, then give each person the chosen file and the relevant next step.

Evidence: The public profile shows a placeholder instead of Belle’s portrait.

Recommended next step: Review the photo visibility setting with Belle. Make it public if she is comfortable being recognized outside her network.

Example · Use the Profile Photo finding to start the visibility conversation, then decide separately who wants a new portrait.

Example: Belle’s public profile shows a placeholder. The first request is to review her photo visibility setting. If she also wants to change the portrait, Photofeeler can help with the selection. Someone who already has a publicly visible photo may still want feedback on a new option.

Coordinate the other relevant profile updates at the same time: the company cover, headline, current company in the intro and workplace in Experience. The team profile updates guide explains how to make those requests specific and manageable.

Help employees turn feedback into action

Through Linkwiz integrations, employees can discuss accessible profile findings with ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or the Slack agent. They can also upload an exported personal profile optimization plan to their own assistant for guided help.

If Belle wants help interpreting photo feedback, she can share the notes she chooses to discuss and ask for practical options. For example: “The feedback mentions a distracting background. Help me decide whether a tighter crop would work before I take another photo.” This is a conversation based on information she provides, rather than an automatic Photofeeler connection.

An assistant can help explain steps and organize the update. Belle chooses the portrait and makes the live LinkedIn change. The team AI agent guide explains the available support routes.

Follow up on the profile after the employee changes it

Ask employees to confirm that their chosen portrait is now on LinkedIn and that the crop looks right. When a later Linkwiz report is available, review public photo visibility and the other profile findings you asked them to update.

Keep portrait selection and profile progress clear. Photofeeler results help with the image choice; later Linkwiz findings help you see which supported profile checks improved. The profile progress guide explains how to compare available reports.

Start with employees who want help choosing a portrait. Give them a shortlist process, time or budget for feedback, a clear profile task and a follow-up date. Expand that routine when it works for the team.

About this guide

By Linkwiz · Evidence reviewed 14 October 2026. Reviewed current Photofeeler product, pricing, help, account, privacy and feedback documentation alongside Linkwiz pricing and guides. The public homepage and pricing were checked in the browser. No employee photos were uploaded, accounts created, votes purchased or authenticated tests run.

Photofeeler’s reference scores account for the photo subject’s age and gender. Voters’ first impressions are not an assessment of employee ability, a sample of your customers or a prediction of LinkedIn reach. Its algorithms process human votes; this guide does not present the service as an AI headshot generator or assert an unsupported company dashboard, API or MCP connection.

Credit amounts and dollar prices are those shown on the reviewed public page; checkout taxes and currency were not tested. Credit expiry terms allow expiry on or after a year from purchase. Published privacy text describes private voter visibility after a test ends, while the terms separately grant internal research and product-development use. Do not interpret those as a no-model-training promise.

Linkwiz’s photo finding reviews public visibility. Confirm the selected portrait file with the employee. Other findings depend on available report data and scans.
