Listing your employer tells visitors where you work. Workplace verification adds a separate confirmation through an eligible work email or employer supported route. It verifies the company association, rather than your job title or full career history.

Check which workplace route is available to you.
Start with your current company and work email
Make sure your current employer is listed correctly in Experience and selected in your profile intro. If you have several current roles, choose the main employer you want visitors to see. Review the company shown in your intro.
For supported companies, LinkedIn can verify a work email that matches the company’s domain. You receive a code at that address and use it to confirm access. The code expires after 15 minutes. Your work email is not displayed publicly as part of the verification. Check work email eligibility.
This option is available only for selected companies. Some previously confirmed work emails may receive verification automatically. If LinkedIn does not offer the route for your company, the missing badge is not something you can fix by repeatedly entering the same address.
Other employer supported options
Microsoft Entra Verified ID
Participating employers can provide a workplace credential through Microsoft Entra Verified ID. LinkedIn lists this as a mobile app route. Ask your IT team whether the company already supports it. Review LinkedIn’s Entra verification guidance.
Employer provided LinkedIn Learning
An eligible company Learning license linked to your profile may verify your workplace, sometimes automatically. This is an employer supported option, not a reason to buy a personal Learning subscription. Review Learning eligibility.
LinkedIn Recruiter Corporate
Eligible Recruiter Corporate licenses and roles can verify the workplace. Recruiter Lite does not qualify. LinkedIn may also show a verified recruiter label in Recruiter InMail. Review Recruiter verification requirements.
Newer workplace verification options
LinkedIn is testing verification through connections who worked or studied with you. It is also piloting required workplace verification for employee associations at selected companies. Availability varies by company and account.
LinkedIn also says some members may need workplace verification to add or edit Experience. If you encounter that requirement, check the workplace route offered to your account. Review current work email verification requirements.
For company Page admins: verified Pages can remove known imposter accounts from the company’s employee search results. This is separate from asking genuine employees to complete verification.
Find employees who can add company email verification.
Create your company report in Linkwiz and include your employees’ LinkedIn profiles. The report has 19 checks across Profile, Engagement and Networking. Its Verification column shows whether each profile is verified using company email.
In this example, verification is shown for Arielle and Jasmine, but not for Belle and Peter. Belle’s row is selected, and her individual finding appears below. Optimize means verification is not shown, so the next step is to check eligibility.

Check whether LinkedIn offers verification for your company before asking those employees to complete it. If it does, share the work email instructions and let each person verify their own address. If it does not, record the eligibility issue instead of treating everyone as overdue.

Where to add workplace verification in LinkedIn
On desktop
Open your profile and its verification options. If Verify your workplace with work email is offered, enter the eligible address and use the code sent to it. For an app only route, continue on your phone.
In the mobile app
Open your profile, find the verification options and choose the available workplace method. For work email, confirm the code sent to your company address. Follow the employer credential instructions if your company uses another supported route.
A work email code expires after 15 minutes. Availability depends on the company and account. Review existing verifications in Settings & Privacy, Account preferences, Verifications.
